Hvorfor dette navnet, og hva betyr det?
Navnet Praedium betyr «røtter» på latin, og det beskriver oss godt – hver av oss har våre egne røtter, smaker og opprinnelser på Gran Canaria, men vi er forent gjennom musikken.
Hvor mange album har dere gitt ut, og hva heter de?
I 2024 ga vi ut albumet Raíces, som består av 12 låter med en variert miks av lyder og stiler innen hardrock – noen ganger flørter vi med heavy metal, andre ganger med mer melodiøse og nostalgiske toner. Nå jobber vi med å gjøre albumet kjent gjennom konserter.
Har dere spilt med noen kjente band?
Ja, vi delte scene på Garita’s Rock 2025 med Lujuría, et anerkjent band med lang karriere i Spania.

¿Por qué eligieron este nombre y qué significa?
El nombre Praedium significa “raíces” en latín, y define muy bien lo que somos: cada uno con sus propias raíces, gustos y orígenes dentro de Gran Canaria, unidos por la música.
¿Cuántos álbumes han lanzado, cuándo y cómo se llaman?
En 2024 lanzamos nuestro álbum Raíces, compuesto por 12 canciones con una gran variedad de sonidos y estilos dentro del rock duro. En algunos temas coqueteamos con el heavy metal y en otros exploramos tonos más melódicos y nostálgicos. Actualmente estamos enfocados en darlo a conocer en directo.
¿Han compartido escenario con alguna banda reconocida?
Sí, coincidimos en el Garita’s Rock 2025 con Lujuría, una banda de renombre nacional con una larga y destacada trayectoria.
¿Cuáles son los planes de la banda para el futuro?
Nuestro objetivo ahora es dar vida al disco y a nuestra música sobre el escenario. Dependiendo de cómo vayan las cosas en el próximo año o dos, nos gustaría comenzar a componer nuevo material.

Who founded the band, where, and when?
The band was founded by Javier de Caralt and myself, Juanma Sosa, in Jinámar, Gran Canaria, in 2019.

We are four musicians:

- Juanma Sosa – guitar and backing vocals
- Javier de Páez – bass and backing vocals

Who inspired you?
Our influences range from Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, Metallica, Héroes del Silencio, to Dire Straits, among others.
Why this name, and what does it mean?
The name Praedium means “roots” in Latin, which perfectly defines who we are – each of us has our own roots, tastes, and origins within Gran Canaria, united by music.
How many albums have you released, and what are their titles?
In 2024, we released our album Raíces, which features 12 tracks exploring a wide range of sounds and styles within hard rock – sometimes flirting with heavy metal, and at other times offering more melodic and nostalgic tones. We are currently promoting it through live shows.
Have you played with any well-known bands?
Yes, we shared the stage at Garita’s Rock 2025 with Lujuría, a nationally recognized band with a long and respected career in Spain.
What are the band’s future plans?
We’re focused on bringing our music to life on stage, and depending on how things go in the next year or two, we might start composing new material.
